I went 12-2 last week for a total to date of 23-5 or 0.82; however, Tech and Baylor both gave me a scare. Houston decided the Bayou Bucket was more like a chamber pot, and apparently no one in the state of Iowa has any idea what offense is. The Pokes looked pretty abysmal in the first half in the desert, then looked much better in the second half. The QB carousel continues, but I think we should vote Bowman off the island. He’s not a bit better than the other two options (in fact, I think he’s worse) and is out of eligibility after this year. Plus, the run game is crappy with him in. Just in case Mike Gundy is reading this; I know he has so much leisure time this time of year.
I’ve had AC trouble this week, thus the late submission and lack of florid and exalted prose
The only upset I’m picking is West Virginia, but I think there could be a couple. Wyoming getting the better of Texas would be hilarious, but I’m not risking it as a pick.
BYU at Arkansas
My mom’s family are all hog fans. BYU hasn’t looked great, and KJ Jefferson is a dude.
Arkansas 24-17
Baylor vs Long Island
Baylor 35-3
Cincinnati vs Miami (OH)
Cincinnati 42-21
Houston vs TCU
First conference matchup. After the debacle last week in Rocket City, my money’s on the frogs.
TCU 35-23
Iowa State at Ohio
Iowa State 35-10
Kansas at Nevada
Kansas 38-14
Kansas State at Missouri
Old Big 12 rivals meet again. K-State seems pretty good, but Mizzou seems to be in a state of misery.
K-State 38-14
OU at Tulsa
OU 28-17
OSU vs South Alabama
This one scares me a bit. Looking at Gundy’s favorite points per play metric makes things not look so great for the Pokes, butI think that this year’s squad is one that finds or make a way to win. They seem to be developing, and a night crowd all liquored up in Stillwater is worth at least a touchdown.
OSU 27-17
Texas vs Wyoming
Texas 42-17
Tech vs Tareleton State
Tech 45-7
UCF vs Villanova
UCF 35-13
West by god Virginia vs Pitt
This is supposed to be a close one. It’s in Morgantown and I think the couch burners will rise to the occasion against their old rivals.
WestVirginia 28-27
