Week 5
of year two of the Whiskey Cup
So I’m several games back at this point in the season, making my chances of catching up pretty slim. I may have to start whiskey shopping. Colorado is looking much better that I would have thought possible. Thank god they’re on a Bye week. Apparently Gundy has been having his radio show at the olds folks home; the whole team is going to need a Geritol this week the way we’ve looked lately.
On to the picks
Houston at TCU
Part of me wants to think this may be where Houston finds its footing, but their offense has looked more hapless than the Pokes these last few games.
TCU 21-3
WVU at OSU
Lord I hope the Pokes can get a W here. If not, our season is pretty much over other than clawing our way toward bowl eligibility. Also, I’m pretty sure that Nate said, and I quote “If Kasey Dunn still has a job on Monday I am going to kick myself in the balls.” That was last Saturday, and Dunn is still employed. Pics or it didn’t happen? (Side note, I’m really curious, not out of any sense of schadenfreude, but in terms of mechanics. How exactly *does* one kick himself in the balls?") Actually, if our offense looks like the last two weeks again tomorrow, I may need a kick in the nads. You know, the old Major Payne thing where breaking your finger makes you forget about your missing leg. Maybe? Definitely some pain and suffering here in Cowboy country. Maybe we could file a class action lawsuit against for undue emotional anguish?
Pokes 23-17
Baylor at Iowa St.
Cyclones should have this one easy 35-17
UCF at Florida
Florida hasn’t been great and UCF should show up bigtime for this one
UCF 51-48 in a shootout
Kansas at AZ St
Kansas has to win one eventually, right? I feel like I’m running a reverse martingale at this point.
Jayhawks 31-24
Tech at Arizona
Tech has a great running back, but Arizona’s on a roll. Tough choice, but I’m going to say Arizona suffers the week after a big win letdown
Red Raiders 34-21
